TRUMP ACCOUNTS – WHO IS SUPPORTING THEM?
The US Department of the Treasury has launched Trump Accounts, a pro-family savings and financial literacy initiative designed to give future generations an early stake in the American economy. Celebrating the nation’ s 250th year, the programme targets eligible children born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028.
The government kickstarts each account with a US $ 1,000 starter contribution, which will transition to the child’ s name at age 18. Accessible via a dedicated app, the accounts feature 15 interactive modules covering essential concepts like compound growth, investing and market diversification.
The initiative has garnered substantial corporate backing, with 50 major firms pledging contributions. Goldman Sachs will match the initial US $ 1,000 for its employees’ children, while PayPal, Visa, JPMorgan Chase, BlackRock and tech giants like NVIDIA, IBM and Coinbase have also committed varying levels of financial support.
