Appointed CFO of Rio Tinto in 2021, Peter Cunningham brings over three decades of company experience to his current role. Since joining the organisation in 1993, he has directed global financial operations, capital allocation and climate strategy. Prior to becoming CFO, Peter served as Group Controller and held key leadership positions across commercial and non-financial divisions, including Head of Energy and Climate Strategy. A qualified Chartered Accountant, he holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oxford.
